"Week 4": Imaginative Arts

This week we will seek to
Open minds
Make connections
Be inspired
through the lens of Imaginative Arts to bring ourselves to a beautiful conclusion for this "month"!

OPEN YOUR MIND!
I remember hearing the story when I was a kid about a girl that went to take her daddy his lunch.  He was digging in a hole so deep she couldn't see him.  She dropped her lunch down to him, but when he asked her to jump down to him, she was scared.  He told her that she could trust him, even though she couldn't see him.  He could see that she was terrified but encouraged her and she did it.  She jumped.  The story was told beautifully, capturing what faith it took the girl to jump into the darkness.

Faith and love can help us do some beautiful things...


...things that are scary, things that save, things that comfort.  And it is our spiritual connection with God that can make this happen. It is knowing God through the eyes of truth.

Watch this video of "Spiritual Capacity" and keep your mind open to the four things she says will help strengthen our relationship with God:

1. Be intentional about creating time and space to hear God's voice
2. Act without delay
3. Get your errand from the Lord
4. Believe and Trust

Pay attention to these four areas as you move onto the next areas!!

 MAKE CONNECTIONS!

Just as we learned about God and truth through the lenses of:
LEADERSHIP
GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY (GEO-GENIUS)
MATH AND SCIENCE (EUREKA)
now we are going to learn about it through the arts!

This week, take some time to find songs and art that teach you truth about God.
Please take the time to post images of them or links. We will be reviewing them on Friday and that
way I can have them all ready :D.

BE INSPIRED!
--through Literature--

Read "Charlie's Monument" and find examples of the four steps
in the book.
Also, find truths that Charlie learns as he struggles through life.
Please bring them so we can learn from them together!

This week we will seek to Open minds Make connections Be inspired through the lens of  Imaginative Arts as we study the principle of "A good leader has good character" --through Music, Poetry and Art-- Just as we learned about Leadership and Character through the lenses of: LEADERSHIP ACADEMY GEO-GENIUS EUREKA! now we are going to learn about it through the arts! This week we will seek to Open minds Make connections Be inspired through the lens of Geo-Conquest as we study the principle of "Good families teach us how to have a good society" As we look around the world, we can see examples of families and societies--good and bad.  This week, think about the examples of societies you find in our study of North America, it's history and people (particularly the Amish) and add another column to your T-chart!
